NEICC THE QURAN READING & RECITING CONTEST and AWARD CEREMONY

The Turkish American community organized The Qur’an Reading & Reciting Contest and Award Ceremony among the students of the weekend schools and after school programs. Sponsored by Turkish Cultural Centers.North East Islamic Community Center (NEICC) had the honor of organizing their third Qur’an reading Contest.

Students residing in the Tri-states were selected out of 730 students to compete in the Qur’an contest reading from memorization and from the pages, were praised and applauded by the audience.
The contest was held at Fairleigh Dickinson University at the Wilson Auditorium. Among the contestants’ relatives, guests attending from the tri-state area filled the auditorium.
Between contestants from the elementary first grade level through first year high school students mesmerized the audience with reading proper Kiraat. Contestants from elementary grade level were also applauded for reading Surahs through memorization.
The contest began with Adhan, Qur’an recitation, and continued with group and individual nasheeds.
