Back to Sohbet: A Warm Return to Community

On October 16th, the North East Islamic Community Center welcomed everyone back for the “Back to Sohbet” gathering at Harmony Point in Wayne, NJ. Sisters from across our community filled the room for an evening of good company, meaningful conversation and shared reflection over tea and refreshments.

The program featured an inspiring talk that invited everyone to reconnect with the spirit of sohbet: sitting together, learning together and supporting one another on the path of faith. Around beautifully set tables, longtime participants and new faces caught up with each other and shared their thoughts, renewing the bonds that make our circles so special. The children who came along added their own joy to the evening.

Sohbet has always been at the heart of our community life. It is where friendships grow, hearts find peace and faith is nurtured through the remembrance of Allah and good conversation. We’re grateful to everyone who joined us and helped make this return
