New Jersey Social Night/Halaqah-September-2019

NEICC held its traditional monthly social family gathering on September 6th, at Turkish Cultural Center, Clifton, NJ with a great turn out.

As usual, program started with night prayer (isha) and then followed by delicious potluck dinner. Following dinner, a beautiful Quran recitation was given by brother Yildirim Hodja with his heartwarming voice. Subsequently, guest speaker, Mr Mehmet, PhD, gave a speech about “Caliph Umar’s Understanding in Guidance of Qoran”.

Mr Mehmet talked about Caliph Umar’s contribution to Islamic Community during his administration and ended with following Final Thoughts:

• • A comprehensive understanding of wisdom of Quran is needed.

• • Mercy & Justice, social order & individual freedoms should be reflected upon

• • Change is necessary and inevitable

• Be part of social changes and make contribution to social needs
