Ramadan Eid al-Fitr celebration program in New York City Department

On July 14th, 2019, Neicc volunteer chaplains organized and participated in Ramadan Eid al-Fitr celebration program in New York City Department of Corrections Wellness Center. The main purpose of the program was bringing the NY Doc staff together in the light of eid al- Fitr celebration. New York City Department of Corrections Wellness Center was opened in April 2019 for providing spiritual and religious needs of the staff in a well designed setting. There is a Church, a Masjid, a Synagogue and a Buddhist temple in the facility. The 2019 eid al- Fitr celebration program was planned by several Chaplains who are from different backgrounds. There were approximately 100 participants of the program from both Muslim and non-Muslim staff. It was also the first official intra-faith organization in the Wellness Center which was organized with the cooperation of Neicc volunteers.
