Today everyone is shocked by the horrible terrorist attacks on two Mosques in New Zealand. Hate, terrorism, and bigotry do not have a religion, race or color.
NEICC condemns all forms of terrorism, hate speech, bigotry, antisemitism, Islamophobia and any rhetoric that encourages violence.
We share the pain and send our sincere thoughts and prayers to the families who lost their beloved ones and to all people of New Zealand. This is a dark day for the Muslim community around the world, but we all feel extremely appreciative and encouraged by the enormous support provided immediately by our Muslim and non-Muslim friends.
NEICC received dozens of messages from our friends of different religions, including priests and rabbis, and from state officials and representatives.
These events will not tear us apart but will unite us to defeat hate and bigotry. We will continue our journey to build peace, harmony, and love in our society.North East Islamic Community Center
