North East Islamic Community Center (NEICC) Held a Presentation About Basic Concepts of Islam

TCC of Lancaster hosted a group of students from Eastern Mennonite University with an informative event about Islam. The group of students consisted of registered nurses working towards their Bachelor of Science Degree. Mr. Fatih Akdemir, a volunteer at TCC of Lancaster and representative of Northeast Islamic Community Center (NEICC) held a presentation about basic concepts of Islam, diversity of Islam among different cultures, and some general suggestions of how to deal with Muslim patients. After the presentation Mr. Akdemir answered the questions of the students.

This event was scheduled as part of a course offered at Eastern Mennonite University to increase the cultural competency of the students so that they can care give their patients culturally/religiously sensitive care. TCCPENN in accordance with its mission organizes such events to promote a better understanding among people of different backgrounds.
