North East Islamic Community Center (NEICC) organized an annual Training Workshop for Volunteers at Correctional Facilities. NEICC volunteer community advisor, Halil Atas gave welcoming remarks and an introduction. Chaplain Muhammad Ahmad Salih, working at the New York State Department of Correctionsheadquarters and Chaplain Fatih Akdemir, working at the Pennsylvania Department of Corrections headquarters presented The Importance of Islamic Guidance and Da’wah for prison inmates and Call for Volunteering at Correctional Facilities. Chaplain Muhammad Ahmad Salih and Chaplain Fatih Akdemir also presented Revisiting Directives and Awareness of Critical Matters. Chaplain Imam Dr. Askia Muhammad from the New York City Department of Correction facilities, Volunteer Chaplain Cihan Unsal and Chaplain Fatih Akdemir presented Methods of Teaching and Adopting Curriculum. House of Hope PA, Executive Director Erol Dincer presented a Prison Mentoring Program. Dr. Ahmet Celenli, Muslim Chaplain, presented a Methodology of Teaching Quranic Arabic. Volunteer Chaplain Cihan Unsal, House of Hope PA Executive Director Erol Dincer, and Volunteer Chaplain Muhammet Sengez presented on Organizational Activities and Servicing Inmate’s Families.
