The Holy Night Series on New York; ’’Beraat’’

Berat means salvation and the night of Berat is one of the four most important religious nights of Muslim people. According to exilic calendar, the 15th day of the month of Saban is the night of Berat and Muslims believe that the prayers and worships that take place this night are more valuable. During this night God opens the doors of Mercy and Grace, His blessings rain over and forgives all the wrongdoings of all Believers. Due to importance of this night, NEICC New York Branch organized a special night.The holy night of Muslim people started with the common prayers. The program continued with the serving of delicious Turkish foods. Then, NEICC religious instructor Savas Cetinkaya gave a speech. He quoted Prophet Muhammed (PBUH). He said, ‘’ You can’t go to the Heaven, if you don’t have full faith; and if you don’t love each other, you don’t have full faith.’’

Attributed to this Hadith, Mr. Cetinkaya also said that “We hope that the mayhem and chaos that is taking place in Islam world will come to an end soon”. Mr. Cetinkaya continued his speech stating that ‘’ the problems that we are facing today can only be solved with dialog; fighting and chaos will only worsen this problem and cause it to grow.

Mr. Cetinkaya called on the Muslim world for prayers to end all the problems and the night ended with prayer participated by all the guests.
